Generac's GP8000E offers many benefits that make this model a favorite for emergency power or recreational use. Equipped with CO-SENSE Technology, the GP8000E protects you and your family from unsafe levels of carbon monoxide (CO) by automatically shutting of your system when increased CO is detected. PowerRush Advanced Technology delivers over 30% more starting capacity* (*increases electrical current upon demand above rated output when starting electric motors), and electric start makes the GP8000E easy to use (battery included). You'll always be prepared with the plug-in battery jack that keeps the battery charged and ready for unexpected outages. The long-lasting OHV engine and large-capacity steel fuel tank with fuel gauge provide increased durability and up to an 11-hour runtime at 50% load. Rough or rugged environments will not be an issue thanks to the covered outlets for added protection, heavy-duty wheels that will never go flat and a fold-down handle that will enable you to easily transport your generator to any location. The low-oil feature will automatically shut down the generator, preventing damage to the unit, while the hardened 1.25-in. steel-tube cradle increases strength and resilience. And with the regular maintenance alerts provided by your hour meter, you'll never be caught off guard.

I’m sold on this generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want a generator that’s strong, reliable, and not hard to figure out, the Generac GP5500 is a great choice. I was scared of this generator at first.  I am glad to have it for power outages and outdoor use, and it really delivered.  With a bit of help I was able to get it up and running.  Let’s talk about the pros and cons and why it may be a good choice for you.  Pros     •    Plenty of power for the essentials — fridge, freezer, lights, fans, and small appliances.     •    Runs for hours on one tank.     •    Easy to start, even with the pull cord.     •    Sturdy build with wheels that make it easier to move.     •    Very dependable with the items I plugged into it.  Cons     •    It’s heavy, so expect to roll it instead of lifting it.      •    A little loud — not sure what’s normal.   If your power is out or you are outside and it works the noise doesn’t matter.     •    Not the best for sensitive electronics like high-end computers.  Plug in the things you need the most during an outage.  Ease of Use Super simple. Just:     •    Add fuel     •    Check oil     •    Turn the switch     •    Start it That’s all. Very beginner friendly.  I feel more secure knowing that I am prepared for an outage. I would recommend.

Great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already knew something about this brand; I know it's one of the best brands for power generators, and it certainly is. It's been a huge help, as it can even power a refrigerator and many other things at the same time. As is well known, they are very noisy, but that's the least of our worries since there's no electricity. And we shouldn't put it near the house; it should be placed further away for everyone's safety, especially if it's used at night. It's definitely highly recommended.

needless waste of my time to resolve warranty issu

Originally purchased unit from a general distributor. The product did not work as it should. Spent months trying to get that resolved. The process was gruesome and useless. Finally after months & hours of my time a resolution was determined to replace the unit with a new one. This unit appears to perform as advertised and expected. So long story short, replacement made but after months of aggravation. Not what I ever bargained for.
