Great, but ....

I received a set of Retaining Ring Pliers, #3152D, as a gift. I had not even used them on a job when the pin for the ratchet pawl broke off.
I submitted a warranty claim and received a new pair shortly thereafter.
Replacement pair worked great when I removed the retaining ring for a front wheel bearing on a Ford focus. However, when I compressed the ring to reinstall it, the same pawl post/pin broke.
They still work for internal or external rings, they still have spring loaded opening and they are heavy duty - it's still a good set of snap ring pliers. However, the ratchet system for holding the rings in an open/closed is NOT heavy duty. For me the locking ratchet is what appealed so much.
These are good pliers aside from the locking mechanism.
