It could have been so much more attractive!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was attracted to this set of tools mostly due to the included ratchet. This is the second generation 120XP and it doesn't disappoint! The new version has a significantly smaller head than the old version, and it is in fact it has the second narrowest head among all my 3/8 ratchets. (I have more than 50 3/8 ratchets). Only the Carlyle is very slightly narrower. It also has the thinnest depth. Therefore, it is clear that it is probably the ratchet with the best access among all my ratchets. It is also worthwhile to point out that the back plate is attached using two screws, instead of using a snap ring like all my other GearWrench ratchets. This obviously adds to cost but I suspect that this design will allow GW to use o-rings to seal off the grease inside the head. I don't want to open up my brand new ratchet. So I can't really verify the existence of o-rings. Relative to the old version, it is also 2 inches longer at 13.5 inches. This will make it more handy when I need leverage. GearWrench also backs up this longer length with extra wide fork. Look at the pictures attached where I compare it with 4 other ratchets. The fork on the new 120XP is almost double the width of all others. So better access and leverage do not sacrifice durability and strength. I really like this ratchet and it makes me want to have the 1/2 drive version even more, because the 1st Gen 120xp 1/2 drive has an incredibly large head, which makes it unusable in certain scenarios. I hope I can exchange that for this newer version! The rest of the set kind of disappoints a bit. It would be nice if the screwdriver is ratcheting. But the biggest issue is that the tool selection is puzzling. I don't get why so few sockets are included. GW should really ditch those bits and add more sockets there. Us tool users typically consider sockets, wrenches as tools and bits as consumables. It doesn't make a lot of sense to add a whole bunch of bits on the foam tray to take up space. The next issue is the absence of 12mm sockets and wrenches. I don't get why 12mm gets so much disrespect. 12mm literally shows up everywhere. From larger bolts on the body to smaller ones for suspension, I really don't feel secure without 12mm. So overall, I really like the design and quality of the tools, but I feel that the tool set can be so much better if the selection can be more judicious. Get rid of the bits and the magnet, add more sockets, deep and shallow. Also we don't need 8mm for both 1/4 drive and 3/8, right? Why give us 2 8mm, 2 13mm, but no 12mm at all? P.S. The extra long flex head wrenches are very nice too. I like them a lot, especially with yellow paint for size markings. Good stuff. I can tell that GW is moving in the right direction there.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Outstanding Quality and Durability!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently acquired the Gearwrench GWMSMBS02 socket set, and I have been thoroughly impressed! This set is a fantastic addition to any mechanic's or DIYer's toolbox. From the moment you pick up the sockets, you can feel the premium quality. The chrome finish is excellent, resisting corrosion and making cleanup easy. I've used these sockets on some seriously stuck bolts, and they've handled the high torque without any sign of rounding or wear. The off-corner loading design is genuinely effective—it grips the fasteners firmly, reducing the risk of slippage and damage. The range of sizes included is perfect for most common tasks, and the included storage tray is sturdy and keeps everything organized, making it easy to grab the right size every time. If you are looking for a reliable, tough, and high-quality metric socket set that will last for years, look no further. The Gearwrench GWMSMBS02 is an excellent investment and truly delivers on performance! Highly recommended!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing deaigned toolset

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The  set is organized well in a drawer-sized foam insert for quick accessibility. When a tool is removed from the foam insert, the inside layer is in a orange-colored bottom making it obvious when a tool is removed. Which is great to see what tools you didn't put away . It also has a magnetic area kuddos . It's great for a roll cart , everything you need is right there in plain site . The tools are top quality as usual.

Yes, I recommend this product.
