Older set was good, new design is garbage. Period.

So I have been an avid gearwrench enthusiast since I started working on cars as well as Dirtbikes and atvs, and I also worked at advance auto parts in retail sales, so I have been either beside, touching, or owning almost every single thing gearwrench has made. Recently, this socket hex bit set had to be warrantied out because one FINALLY sheared from my original set (older design). After taking my whole set I purchased, they gave me a complete set of brand new hex bit sockets (3/8"). Cool. So I begin using he first set, and the 6mm bit was absolutely crooked in the actual socket itself. When installing a bolt into my customers ATV, I thought the customers stuff was what was causing the end of the socket hex bit to go around and around in a circle as if the bolt was warped. To my surprise, the customer's equipment was perfectly sound, it was MY STUFF that was messed up (these are literally 3 hours old, had no torque applied up until this point, and this may have only been 5 ft/lbs!). I was absolutely fuming! I go back to my local advance that I worked at previously, they exchanged the set, which made me a bit happier, but still left me questioning these hex bit sockets. The SAME DAY, 4 HOURS LATER, I open the brand new pack up, and who woulda thought. The freaking 6mm socket was ALSO not set correctly into the socket itself from the factory, causing a wobble when tightening or loosening bolts. I am calling customer service now to let them know, but I guess some things you just stick with brands like SO, Mac, Matco, etc. NOT ONE SET, but THREE SETS, STRAIGHT OFF THE SHELF IN THE WRAPPER STILL! ABSOLUTELY PISSED OFF, and wouldn't use this tool particularly for a door chock. The old design was much better and sturdier. STICK WITH THE RATCHETS, WRENCHES, and SCREWDRIVERS!

Very rare experience. So sorry. Instead of using the hand tool set 80580 maybe switch to the stronger impact style 84913---7 pc set 3/8 drive from 3/16”---1/2”
