Q: I need weights on the bottom of my tent. The weights must be 40 lb. each. If I put sand in these buckets, will it hold 40 lbs of sand each?

  • A: 2 gallon of natural dry sand can weigh around 27 pounds or 12.26kg, dry loose sand is around 10.92kg or 24 pounds, dry packed sand is about 12.6kg or 28 lbs, wet sand is around 14.54kg or 32 lbs and wet packed sand is around 15.76kg or 34.66 lbs.
