I've been using this thermostat since the beginning of December. My wife and I installed it ourself (my hands have tremors, but it still was easy to completely install). This thermostat was a terrific upgrade compared to what we were using. I like the statistics it provides (for the current month to date). The Sensors help to even out the temperatures through out our house. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

I wish we had made this purchase a long time ago but we really didn't understand just how much difference it would be from out old thermostat.

The thermostat requires a learning curve. I had to refer to UTube videos three times. As we move forward, both my wife and I will be pleased.

I purchased two Ecobee Premium thermostats for two separate houses to replace smart thermostats that I had purchased over a decade ago. One of the primary reasons for choosing Ecobee was that I could integrate them locally via Apple HomeKit into Home Assistant. This does work, but the HomeKit API is severely limited in terms of the controls and data it exposes. Further, Ecobee stopped giving out developer kit API keys in mid-2024, which makes their API inaccessible now. This is a significant limitation for anyone who is looking to have better access to both control and monitor their thermostats. Ideally, they would provide locally accessible APIs or expand what is possible via HomeKit APIs. Overall, I would say this is still a good thermostat to purchase, but the limitations around API and local control are definitely problematic. You cannot trust cloud based services, because they can and will brick your devices at any point in the future.
