When purchased online, your website indicated an estimated arrival of 2/19. I had a trip planned the week of 2/9, but a 2/19 arrival worked for me. The item arrived early, approximately ~2/11. XPO contacted me to arrange delivery and was inflexible about the delivery date. They said I had the option of taking delivery on 2/11 or 2/12 (I was out of town) or they would return the unit. They were not helpful and seemed to be using the threat of returning the unit to get me to figure out how to receive the unit at their convenience. I contacted your customer service department and they seemed to offer me a solution. Have the unit delivered to my local store and then the store would deliver to my property when I returned. Unfortunately, what happened was the item was delivered to the store, and then I was required to pick it up. The bench is over 500 lbs. I did not have the ability to pick it up. When I visited the store to try to sort things out, the customer service rep at the store wasn’t happy that the workbench was delivered to the store, stating that he told the online customer service rep that they would not be able to receive the unit and it was delivered to the store anyhow. Even though the local store rep wasn’t happy, he worked with me and arranged to have the workbench delivered. I guess the customer service person at my local store, San Luis Obispo, decided to demonstrate his displeasure by storing the workbench with a wooden top outside in the rain. When the workbench was delivered, I discovered warping and rain damage on the wooden top. We decided to receive the unit, but I’m not happy to pay full prices for a “new” workbench that arrived with water damage. It wasn’t a great experience overall. There was a lot of negative personal interactions—XPO logistics, in-store customer service, the local delivery contact. There was one positive experience with the online customer service rep, but what he said would happen wasn’t what happened. When I spoke with the online customer service rep, he said at the end of the call, “Thank you for being the best part of Tractor Supply.” I didn’t leave the entirety of the experience feeling like that sentiment was delivered. I felt treated like the biggest unwanted problem to solve.
