I purchased these boots after a long, careful search for comfortable, waterproof boots with great traction in mud to wear while working in the Peruvian rainforest. They had their first test throughout the month of October. They were quite comfortable. Because they were unisex, they were wide enough for my feet. I added my own orthotic insoles. I was able to wear them for 8-9 hours at a time. My feet stayed dry and never felt hot and sweaty despite the hot and humid weather. Well there was one time I stepped into a creek deeper than I'd thought. Water to into the boot of course. But after dumping out the excess water the boot was never really uncomfortable. They were easy enough to take on and off. They stayed on when walking through mucky swamp because of the shaping around the ankle (others' boots came off in the muck). My heel stayed put in the boot and did not slide around where others developed blisters in their cheaper boots. I wasn't truly able to test the puncture-proof feature as not venomous snakes tried to bite me. I did trip on a big tree root once and it poked holes in the toe of the boot but I guess they were superficial and didn't go all of the way through. Most importantly, I was able to walk briskly through the clay mud. The boots are designed with great traction and it works. Great design; great traction. The description says these are mid-calf boots, bu they are as tall as any rubber boot, falling a couple inches below my knee. Perfect height. I gave these boots a great run for the money. We will see if they are durable enough to withstand repeated trips to the rainforest. I am glad that I spent the money for excellent boots.
