Good Pump - Cable Design Flaw

This is now the 2nd one of these pumps I have had to purchase in the 6 years I have owned this fountain. While the pump itself is fine, the problem (as others have pointed out) is the black sleeve over the cables cracks open at the 180 degree bend where you place the gasket over it.
My first pump was replaced after 2 years, my second, 4 years.
I love this foundation, and I am glad I can get replacement parts, but this is VERY frustrating because that tiny crack compromises the waterproofing (where in this instance, I didn't notice it till I was cleaning, so who knows what fluids got inside the sleeve, meaning, it's unsafe to use now).

Though it would be rare for damage to occur quickly during normal use, as with any repetitively used item it is normal to need to replace parts over time. After pumps have been used for years, damage to either the pump or wire casing can occur with even the sturdiest pump. We're so sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

After 5 cats and 15 years, we replaced all of the parts within our DRINKWELL 360. Subtle changes in some, some are still stiff but a good investment
