Smelled a burning smell from inside the camper. Unit stopped working. Won't attempt to light or work on electric. This was a week into our first trip. The heater is installed under our bed so it makes me real uneasy.

This water heater came installed on our 2022 Coachman Freedom Express Ultralite model. We turn the water heater off at night so we don’t see the light in our small trailer. Our 3rd day camping in our brand new trailer we turned it off when we went to bed. Turned it on the next morning and cold water. Won’t work on AC, so we tried on propane. Cold water. Spanking new trailer, and after only 4 days use it’s back to the dealer for repair already. Thermal shutoff link, like others have stated. How can they sell this faulty water heater? Dometic, do the right thing and recall all of these units.

we have a new 2021 Grand Design 2670MK. We picked the unit up in May21 left two days latter for a long weekend got to our site and not work, Electric or gas,returned to the dealer and found out it was a diode, replaced the first week in June. worked great for 7 weeks , gues its a diode, And yes we have a surge protector, Southwire Surge guard 50amp.

Dometic has really screwed up with this one. Everyone’s finding bad control boards or thermal cut offs that cause these brand new units to fail. Just going to replace with an on demand unit. What a joke.
