To connect two 1/2 in. (.700 OD) poly tubing pieces without using glue or tools, use the DIG 1/2 in. Compression Elbow. Simply push the polyethylene drip tubing into the compression fitting using a wrist action, holding the fitting with one hand and tubing with the other. Walk or wiggle the tubing back and forth into the fitting until it is about 1/2 to 3/4 in. deep; this creates a watertight seal.
