Q: How hot should this bench grinder get? Recently got one and the motor gets so hot, can't hold my hand on it. Only used for drill bits, no big pressure Not sure if that is normal or not. Have an older duracraft that gets fairly warm too but not as hot.

- A: If the motor is shorted out or there is a burnt stator in your bench grinder, it can cause the motor to get hot. If you are pushing the object that is being grinded too hard against the grinding wheel in your bench grinder, then it can create friction and cause your motor to get hot.5 years agoHelpful?

Just bought this from my local TSC. I started putting the guards and rest on, got that done then went to put a wire wheel on. I started to take all the screws off and the last one was stripped on, the hole was stripped out. I went to check the other side, none would come out. Also one screw was completely missing, bad quality control on Dewalts side. Not TSC fault, going to return it tomorrow and hope the next one is fine. If not, then I don't know what to do.

Seems OK out of the box

Needed a new 6" bench grinder, saw this one and let price be my guide. Pleased with it. quiet, smooth operation, so far so good. Time will tell of its durability. I tried to stall it, and it took a lot to slow it significantly. Took a little tweaking to fit my needs but nothing major. Like all imported tools, it remains to be seen on the long-term.

Vibrates badly

The balance of the whole thing is so bad that it vibrates itself off the bench. When I hold it down, my entire 300 lb work bench shakes so badly, that other items wander off the bench!
