Clavulanate and Amoxicillin, the two primary ingredients, both provide broad-spectrum antibiotic properties, working in tandem to provide additional benefits. Clavulanate weakens some Amoxicillin-resistant bacteria, causing them to become susceptible to it. Amoxicillin stops the bacteria from forming a cell wall.

Special Precautions

• Safety has not been proven in breeding or pregnant animals.
• Animals who have a history of penicillin or cephalosporin allergies should not receive this medication. In the case of an allergic reaction, steroids and/or epinephrine should be administered.

Side Effects

This medication is thought to be safe to use cautiously during pregnancy.

The following signs of gastrointestinal upset may occur, but could be reduced when administered with food:

• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Decreased appetite
• Nausea

While rare, allergic reactions could occur. If your pet exhibits any of the following symptoms, discontinue use and seek emergency veterinary attention:

• Facial swelling
• Puffiness
• Scratching
• Hives
• Fever
• Rash
• Irregular breathing
• Any other unusual effects

Store at room temperature between 68-77°F (20-25°C).

Active Ingredients

Each 62.5-mg tablet contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 50 mg of amoxicillin activity and 12.5 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. Each 125-mg tablet contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 100 mg of amoxicillin activity and 25 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. Each 250-mg tablet contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 200 mg of amoxicillin activity and 50 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt. Each 375-mg tablet contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 300 mg of amoxicillin activity and 75 mg of clavulanic acid as the potassium salt.

Tips

Follow your veterinarian's instructions for administering. This medication should not be used for over 30 days.
