Cold Steel has been making push knives for over a quarter century. Over the years we have continually refined our designs, discarding some features and enhancing others. Constantly striving to produce the best push knife in the world. Our Safe Maker series represents the pinnacle of our learning, experience, testing, and development. The blades, shafts, and 'T' shaped tangs are fashioned from one solid piece of Japanese AUS8A Stainless Steel with a stone washed finish, and then subsequently vacuum heat treated and sub-zero quenched for added strength and performance. A textured Kray-Ex handle encapsulates the tang and part of the shaft for added comfort and security. Available in two sizes; each Safe Maker includes an easily concealable and sturdy Secure-Ex boot/belt sheath.

The blade itself is fine despite the single bevel edge. The sheath is a disappointment as the belt clip continually detaches when any pressure is placed on it. This has become a problem as it is used in a backup role on my duty equipment.

Perfect size for carrying around. Easy and quick to draw but stays securely in the sheath. T-handle is comfortable to hold in several configurations. The back's slight hollow made it so easy to get the edge razor-sharp; that small attention to detail is much appreciated and a mark of quality. I have to admit I've always owned and supported Buck knives my whole life. But Buck does not make a punch knife. Cold Steel came highly recommended by several people, so here we are. Glad I took their advice.

Safe Maker II

The Safe Maker II is one of the best knives I’ve ever owned. Perfect for concealed carry because of design of the sheath. The steel used for the blade maintains its edge well and the tip won’t crack easily like other models I’ve owned. The grip is comfortable making it easy to hold securely. I will be purchasing a few more in case it is discontinued.
