The Cold Steel Heavy Duty Sword Cane is quite possibly the toughest and widest sword cane ever built! It features an extra strong partial crook handle made from heavy duty nylon, and a 2mm thick aluminum shaft thats heat-treated for strength. The tapered shaft is capped with a thick rubber ferrule for better traction on slick, icy sidewalks or uneven terrain. The concealed blade is released by quickly pulling on the handle to break the suction of its friction lock. Made from Stainless Steel with a proprietary heat treatment and tempering, its a hard and resilient blade thats sturdy enough for both cutting and thrusting. This is no mere show piece! I have this model and their "Quick Draw" and several other Cold Steel canes and walking sticks. I love this one, but for me I would like to see a version about the length of the "Quick Draw" with this flat blade. Shorter blade is quicker to draw. Oh, I'm keeping my Heavy Duty either way, but I would like to see the shorter cousin available as well. I guess I could buy another and cut it down myself, but I did not want to go to all that trouble. I'm retired LE so this is my quick go to when I just don't want the hassle of CCW my firearm but still want something. Nerve issues have left me needing a cane anyway, so it's a perfect match. I use the non-sword version when I'm CCW and around the homestead and it's the same dimensions as that one.

I have owned mine for several years. I have a tiny split in the bottom of the tube where I smacked stuff. I upgraded to a oversized 1" rubber foot. It now looks super geriatric.
