This is not your everyday box fan, or $50 shop fan on a stand. This is a highly balanced, ultra high volume air mover. You can hear the advanced aerodynamics when you fire it up - there is a distinct difference over the thousand other fans you've used in your lifetime. The price is justified. I have a couple of these coupled with semi truck air filters to use as air scrubbers in a pro woodshop. We even use them in client's homes to mitigate the fine sawdust powder of general remodeling. Very pleased, and the cast metal housing of the motor serves to strengthen my faith in this machines' longevity. You'll probably agree, first time you fire it up. It's worth it.

Lack of quality control is extremely concerning. How a product in such poor condition can leave the factory is mind boggling. As soon as I opened the box I can see all these defects. The yellow paint on the drum is cracking apart in multiple areas. Either the paint is no good or the surface was not prepared correctly. But either way the paint is just going to fall off this fan. There is black dirt splatter in multiple areas as well. Looks like a sloppy assembly job. The actual fan blades have pitting which means that the fan blades are not smooth. They have impressions in the surface which means they were not prepared and sanded correctly before painting. After seeing all this I turned the fan on just because I was curious to how it would sound even though I knew at that point I was going to be returning it. The fan sounds terrible. Sounds like the same care went into the motor as the exterior. Sounded loose and loud. I don't mind loud if it also would sound solid. But a $20 fan from any store sounds more solid than this. I can't believe something like this is being sold. I thought that maybe someone purchased this unit and repainted an old unit but I verified with tractor supply that this came straight from the supplier and can't be a return. So this is a brand new product. Take a look at the pictures and you be the judge if this is acceptable for a brand new product.

I bought this 14in fan for a home made air cleaner for my shop. Works great, not too loud.
