To fix a tear with Camco Awning Repair Tape, simply clean the damaged fabric thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, trim away any loose threads, and round the corners of your tape patch to prevent peeling. Once you lay the awning flat and press the tape firmly over the rip, use a hard edge like a credit card to rub the surface and activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive. For the strongest possible hold against wind and weather, apply matching patches to both the top and bottom sides of the tear.2 months agoHelpful?

Put about a 3" tear in my awning where it connects to the tube, I taped it with this about 2 years ago and it is holding up great ! This made me very happy as awnings are really expensive....

Does not stick or work on certain fabrics

Bought this to fix a tarp on my dump truck. Worked great for a month and then fell off (Smooth surface like a car seat). It wouldn't even stay on for a day on an awning made of canvas with a surface comparable to the material in your jeans
