This is the only food my guinea pig and chinchilla will eat. Unfortunately, they stopped carrying the 8lb bag, but increased the price of the 5lb bag, that was the reason for 4 stars. Tractor supply is slowly turning into corporate America greed.

Please do not feed this to your piggies. 80% of a guinea pigs diet should be hay (Timothy, meadow, oat, or orchard grass. NOT alfalfa). They should have access to hay at all times to prevent stasis. The remaining 20% should include timothy hay based pellet that does not contain fillers and fresh vegetables. Safe vegetables include romaine lettuce, squash, parsley, cilantro, celery, fennel, dandelion, tomato, cucumber and bell pepper without the stem. They can have carrots or fruit once or twice a week because they have a high sugar content. Other basic guinea pig care- guinea pigs are herd animals and should have a friend. 1-2 guinea pigs should have at least 7.5 square feet of living space. Their nails should be cut about every six weeks. There are places online to get proper information about the care of guinea pigs, pet stores do not provide correct information and will sell anything. Please look up guinea pig and small animal rescues, they will have great information on their websites. There are also several YouTube channels that teach proper care such as Squeak Dreams and Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue.
