Position your feet on either side of the plastic triangle, hold the handle, and pull upward firmly until it clicks/snaps off.Alternative: Grip the strings near the base and pull sharply to the side.Attach: Lay the new mop head on the floor. Love this mop! Saves so many water changes, cuts down on water usage, and takes less time to mop the house. I wish I could buy changeable mop heads, but the spinning bauble certainly still helps the after-cleaning process.
