I looked at just about every lift available for my can am defender hd10 xt before settling on this one sold on tractorsupply.com. The reason I went with it was because it was a bracket style lift that didn’t require spacers under the coil springs and did not mention th need for wheel spacers. The lift arrived within a few days. The lift consists of what appears to be standard but thick walled square tubing that is cut and drilled in a way that they are interchangeable for the front or rear. The brackets are not powder coated. The front lift was the easiest to install. I left the front tires on and lifted it off the ground. Even raised it is tight getting the lower shock to line up with the holes in the bracket. You can use a large punch or screw driver to help get the bolt started. Make sure you put the washers on either side of the lower shock mount. The rear was a little tougher to install. Raise and remove rear tire. 17mm for lug nuts. Remove the lower shock bolt. I had to loosen the sway bar linkage in order to get the lower a arm to be low enough to install the lift bracket. By loosen I mean take the nut off and push the threaded end down through the bar until I could get it to fit. Make sure you install the lower bolt on the bracket completely before you install the shock to the lift or you will not be able to get a wrench on the lower bolt. I torqued everything to 45 ftlbs. When I went to install the rear drivers side tire I noticed a clearance issue with the lower shock mount right away. I was able to get the lug nuts started and then lowered the vehicle and tightened them the rest of the way. Same issue on the passenger side. When fully raised the lifted shocks will contact the rear tire and rim. I did drive the machine to hunt while in was waiting for spacers and never had an issue because I didn’t max out the travel. I ended up buying a set of 1.5” wheel spacers off Amazon 1x137mm. Looking back I would’ve gone with the 1”. There is no way to contact battle armor and no customer service number listed on instructions regarding any other paper that came with the lift. Overall I am happy with the lift but they should have mentioned that it required rear spacers to run with factory rims and tires.
