Allopurinol Tablets are indicated for dogs at risk of developing bladder or kidney stones. They work by inhibiting uric acid production, helping to prevent stone formation. Noticeable improvement may take a few weeks of treatment. Allopurinol is sold by the tablet.How it Works

This medication works by decreasing uric acid production.

Special Precautions

  • Safety has not been proven for use in pregnant or breeding animals.
  • Use cautiously in nursing dogs.
  • Use cautiously in animals with kidney or liver issues.

The most frequently reported adverse reactions are:
  • Nausea

This medication may take up to a few weeks before improvement is noted, and sometimes improvement may not be visibly obvious.
