3 years ago- A: "It's ok for a dog to occasionally ingest cat food, but long-term feeding of cat food to a dog is not recommended. Cats are carnivores and cat food formulas tend to have a higher fat and protein content. Dogs are omnivores and can eat a more varied diet. The amino acid requirements are also slightly different. A dog consuming cat food is not necessarily bad, but for dogs with health conditions such as kidney or liver disease or gastrointestinal disease eating cat formulas could pose a problem."3 years agoHelpful?
