How do you install this clip?

First, hook the U-shape end on the fence wire. Then, the wire clip goes behind the T-post. Finally, hook the other end of the clip over the fence wire and bend it down to secure it in place.

How many clips are needed per post on 47 inch fence? Using the field fencing for large dogs.
