Rated 3 out of 5 by from Burns well but to much ash I bought 10 bags and even though it burns well and hot it produces way to much ash. I had to clean out the ash several times as it completely filed the burn chamber.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality This is my second season with these pellets and I am really disappointed. Last year this brand burned great. I would get about 24 hours from one bag. This year I am getting half that time. The ash build up is substantially more this year. I bought 2 ton and at this rate it wont last 1/2 the winter. Wont buy them again

Interested in possibly using this litter for ferrets. Does this brand of wood pellets contain binders or other chemicals? Is it kiln-dried? What type of wood (soft or hard) is used in this product?

Asked by: Mandi15
These pellets are 100% southern yellow pine, no binders are included. The makeup is 80% softwood and 20% hardwood blend. The wood is sourced locally in most areas and are kiln-dried.

Can these be used in a pellet smoker for cooking?

Asked by: WEdabeS
You can run your smoker on normal wood pellets, but you shouldn't. Normal fuel pellets are made from softwoods like douglas fir and pine, where as BBQ pellets are made from hardwoods such as Hickory, Mesquite, Apple, Cherry, etc. that have been used to cook food for centuries. Using these hardwood forms of pellets provide powerful smoke flavor and precision cooking temperatures that you just can't get with softwood pellets

What is the burn rate of this product

Asked by: DW10
The burn rate setting will depend some on the stove settings. Most pellet stoves will burn 1–9 pounds of pellets per hour. Each pound of wood pellets produces approximately 8,000 - 9000 btu’s per hour. An average 1200 square foot house in the northeast requires 30,000 to 40,000 btu’s per hour or burn 3 to 4 pounds fuel per hour during the coldest periods.

What is the diameter of these pellets, are they small? All the wood pellets near me are the large sized pellets and I'm looking for the smaller sized pellets (closer to rabbit food size rather than the 2-3 sizes larger like the brands at my local store).

Asked by: karon
These pellets are roughly 3/8" - 1" in length and about 1/4" in diameter.

Just purchased a 900. Wood pellet stove, which product do I use in it? Soft or hard ? Thx

Asked by: Frank321
Most wood pellet stoves are designed to accept both soft and hardwood pellets, however, softwood pellets generally have higher heat output and lower ash. If your stove requires a specific type of wood pellet then that will be indicated in your owner's manual.
