- For Show Birds - Place a few drops of solution under one wing, when birds return from shows, keep them separate from the flock for a week, when shanks appear dry, rub a small amount of cold VetRx from the bottle, repeat every 3 days until birds are no longer dry
- For Breeding - Keep 3 quarts of lay mash indoors for a few hours until it reaches room temperature, warm a bottle of VetRx, pour entire bottle into mash and mix well, let stand overnight, next day, put this solution in container with tight lid and let stand for 2 weeks, mix 1 Tablespoon of treated mash, once daily, in feed for every 20 birds
- Dosage/Preparation: Use VetRx warm. Add one teaspoonful to one cup very warm water. Place a few drops of the solution, straight from the bottle, down the throat of the bird at night. Also, rub some warm VetRx from the bottle over head of birds and under wings.
- Directions: Open bird's mouth while turning its head to the side and tilting down so you can see the cleft in the roof of the mouth. Dip a small cotton swab into the warm VetRx. Press swab right into cleft, slowly. Watch for VetRx to come from each side of birds beak and corner of each eye. Clean eyes and rest bird. You may have to repeat treatment 2 or 3 times.

Keep this on hand!

Love this stuff! Saw it advertised in a poultry magazine and decided to give it a try. I had two sIlkie chickens that had started sneezing constantly and not looking so well. I followed the directions and put some on their nostrils, combs, throats and even a bit under their wings. Within a few days, no more sneezes! Also, one of the girls had a goodly amount of lice on her, near her vent. I put a couple drops of this product around her vent too and it started to kill the lice quickly. It also seemed to repel them well. I proactively put a couple drops on the rest of my flock as a precaution.
Also, amazingly, I had a turkey that has wheezed/coughed since I bought her. I had tried two different rounds of antibiotics for her and neither worked. I figured I would try this on her as well, couldn't hurt. In three days, she no longer wheezes! I can see she is feeling better and I will know for sure if she starts to put on weight and lay.
I love this product because it is a more natural treatment and can be used without an egg withdrawal period. I poured my bottle into a glass bottle with a dropper for easier application. Best of luck!

Not a Medication and Doesn't work.
Not worth it. It's not a true medication for your chickens and doesn't help like it says. Got it home only to find out it's one of those 'herbal - homeopathic' things that "have not been evaluated by the FDA". In anycase, it did not heal or help my chickens. In the end I had to buy the Tetramyacin.

Chicken cold remedy
After watching some you tube videos we purchased this for our sick rooster who was fighting some sort of cold. His eye was swollen. We applied this to his comb, waddles, beak, under his wings for about 5 -7 days 2x a day. It reminds me of mentholatum. We put the bottle in a bowl of hot water prior to applying to warm it. He is doing much better.
