What diameter wooden fence post and what spacing do u recommend for this fencing?

Asked by: Don300
We recommend using 5" - 6" for line posts and 8" - 10" for corner posts. The posts should be 10 to 12 feet apart.

Is this like chicken wire? I want to keep crawling critters out

Asked by: Padappur
Chicken wire generally has much smaller spacing/gaps between the wire. This fencing has 2"x 4" gaps and will allow crawling critters to get through.

I’ll be using railroad ties for post. For the non-climb horse fence, what can I use to secure the fence to the ties? Also what is a “non-climb horse fence” different from the regular fence?

Asked by: Shal56
We have never had a customer use railroad ties for posts before, and do not have a recommendation at this time. However, with a standard wood post, we would recommend 2 1/2" double barbed staples. As for the difference between a non-climb fencing and a regular fencing, the spacing on the non-climb fence will keep the horse from putting its hoof through the spacing and getting stuck.
