Sentinel Safe Start is a high protein, high fat, extruded feed that offers a safe and natural way to provide essential nutrition to lactating mares and young growing foals. Sentinel Safe Start may also be fed to show horses on low protein hay or when exceptional topline and coat condition is desired. The suggested feeding program is intended solely as a guide. Adjust the feeding of Sentinel Safe Start according to individual needs and condition of the horse. The variables of management, environment, and breed may dictate changes in the horse's dietary requirements. Provide good-quality hay or pasture, free-choice salt and plenty of fresh water.
We recommend in most cases, you slowly transition your animal when changing to a Kent product or even between Kent products. This allows the animal's digestive tract to properly adjust to the feed. To help with the transition, we recommend slowly mixing the new Kent product in with your current feed and then gradually increase over the course of one week to 100% of the new Kent product.
