The top is wide open

I ran in to TSC desperate to grab a bigger feeder for my chicks on the rush...saw this and bolted to the check out. Got it home, washed and filled and thought "that will do" until I heard a baby screaming...some how it had jumped up and fallen in. Like probably any family, we have lots of plastic storage containers so I found a round lid, cut a hole for the handle of the feeder, and taped the lid over the top of the feeder. Problem averted. Or at least THAT problem was...When night time came and I turned off the lights (my brooder is in the basement) I was freaked out to find it glowing. LOL I did not read the lable before a bought the feeder so I had no idea it glows. The glow was enough to keep the babies tumbling out from under the brooder to go back to the food. After standing there stuffing them back under the plate a few times they finally settled in for the night. Would I have bought it if I knew it glowed? No. Do I think it's annoying? Kind of. Am I going to ride back up there to return it? Nope. Party on babies. LOL

No, I do not recommend this product.

Needs a top!

This feeder needs a top! I came home to one of my chicks stuck in the feeder because she flew onto the top fell inside and was stuck. Luckily, she was not stuck a while because she would have overheated and dehydrated not being able to move.
