'Bartlett' pears have that quintessential pear flavor! Their juicy, spicy taste is perfect for eating fresh and delicious, added to salads or paired with cheese. Pears are often canned but hold their shape well when baked, making them a delightful addition to tarts and other baked treats. 'Bartlett' pears have a bell shape, often considered the traditional pear shape, and have a smooth, firm texture. Their green skin will begin to yellow as they ripen in late August to early September. This delicious pear is rather aromatic and an excellent source of potassium and calcium. 'Bartlett' begins producing fruit at a young age. It is partially self-fruitful, although it will be more productive when planted with another pear tree.
