I love the Cub Cadet, but had to return the 42 inch model that I just purchased for a couple reasons. It was missing the shoulder bolt on the back of the frame that are used to mount the bagging system attachment I purchased for this mower. Those are put on the frame while the mowers are built. Somehow this was not found on inspection prior to shipping it out. I only discovered this while I was putting the bagging system together to place on the mower. So BACK IT WENT. Also, I had purchased the extended warranty in case I had any problems during that time period. Before returning the mower I was told to call Cub Cadet directly. I found out that the closest warranty service center was approximately 100 miles from where I live!!! That was a big NO THANK YOU!!! I love this brand and already have a 42" and 46" mower, but a third one is a no. I will buy a TORO zero turn next time and have many warranty repair locations for this brand close to where I live.

Had to replace my old riding mower and went back to the Cub Cadet. I had a Cub Cadet several years ago and it was an excellent mower that gave me no issues. So far the new one is doing great, mows great and I expect it to be very dependable over the years.

Price not worth downtime and repairs

Awful quality. Purchased late fall 2023. Last year the transmission died, which was under warranty but we lost the whole mowing season while it was in the shop. This year the mowing deck broke and fell off. DIY repair is beyond frustrating because it’s revealing light thin metal everywhere. Avoid or be prepared for many repairs and frustration.
