It was a one-off construction and was removed after all the rockets had been fired. The advantage of the launcher was the large number of missiles fired, with better performance than the German equivalent Nebelwerfer. The disadvantages included not the greatest accuracy of the rockets and the way they were mounted on the tank, which posed a significant threat to the crew in the event of urgent evacuation. Calliope was developed in 1943 and about 200 were produced. It was used in the American 2nd Armored Division in France.
