Rated 5 out of 5 by from Champion 7500 watt generator Bought this to run a Hobart handler 140 welder. This generator will run it in highest position without any problems. Started right up and runs well.
Date published: 2020-06-01
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The battery is not a normal size. Generator is easy to start with the 12 VDC battery but the battery is not easily obtained and the factory is located in california (closed due to the pandemic).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Breaker keeps tripping Bought it for my camper and it worked great the 1st 3 times I used it but then all of a sudden its breaker keeps tripping and wont reset. Then I go to genorator and push in and keeps tripping. Then all of a sudden it will begin to work perfectly again then couple hours later starts tripping out again. Tried to contact champion power by phone and email and yes they dont respond back. So either this covid19 has them shut down or they just don't care about there customer service. I have a total of 140 hrs on it. Engine starts up no problem at the moment but just that breaker issue is the onlyiasue I have had with it

Battery required to run on gasoline? I was informed that the dual fuel feature will require a working battery to be attached to operate the fuel cut out solenoid to separate the propane/gas . Will pull rope start without battery with gasoline?

Asked by: Structureman
You need a battery in place to open the fuel cut solenoid for gasoline operation. It is unlikely you will be near generator of this size, without a vehicle around as well. If you are in a pinch, you can use a set of jumper cables to the machines battery leads to get the solenoid open.

Does the champion duel fuel 7500 have auto idle? While running but not in use the idle drops down.

Asked by: BrennonLee
In our portable line, only the inverters will feature an auto idle. The open frame machines like this will run at a constant RPM of 3,600 to create the 60Hz of frequency used. Fuel consumption is still based on load size as the engine will work harder to maintain this RPM with a load attached.

Is the gas tank plastic or metal? Someone told me they have a Champion generator that has a metal tank and they have had issues with rust particles coming from the tank causing issues.

Asked by: Survivor53
The fuel tank is metal, as are nearly all in this category, but rust is caused by water, so there may be some additional storage steps the user can take to prevent this from happening.

I have a residential propane line going to a swimming pool heater. Is it feasible to tie into the house propane line to power this generator?

Asked by: IBEWJW
Yes. The generator requires 1/2 PSI with a max flow rate of 152,000 BTU/hr when under full load. If you can supply this to the 5/8" Male JIC propane fitting on the panel, the generator will run correctly. Thank you.

Will this Generator run a clothes dryer?

Asked by: Jschim
It depends on if it is gas or electric. An electric heating element may take quite a bit of power. We provide the wattage capability of the generator, I would suggest checking with your machine's literature or call the manufacturer to find the voltage and amperage rating.

7500 watt duel fuel. Can this be operated at 20 degree or less temerature

Asked by: store605
When your product is needed your product may be operated at temperatures as low as -15°C (5°F). If the product is exposed to temperatures outside this range during storage, it should be brought back within this range before operation. In any event, the product must always be operated outdoors, in a well-ventilated area and away from doors, windows and other vents.

Does this come with a camper style plug so that I can connect to my electrical panel at home?

Asked by: Rbell
It sounds like you are referring to a 240V 50A connection known as a NEMA 14-50 that is on large RV's. This machine is equipped with a 240V 30A connection known as a NEMA L14-30. There are plenty of adapters available. The generator puts out less than your system can handle, and will work perfectly fine supplying its rated output to the home this way. For further guidance, please contact us at SUPPORT@CPEAUTO.COM. We can help you find the cord if needed.
