Nice tool but has major design flaw

I had intended to give this item 5 stars as it is so much faster than using a leaf vac and the mulch ratio is much better. The time spent mulching my leaves was cut in half and the mulch break down much faster because the pieces are smaller. However, in it's third season of use, the motor failed. This unit has less than 20 hours of total run time. I expected much better longevity for an item with a 2-year warranty.
Removing the motor cover reveals a design flaw. While there is an easily removable air filter that needs to be cleaned periodically, there is also a filter inside the motor case that is not accessible. When this clogs, air no longer properly flows through the housing and mulch material collects around the motor leading to overheating, ultimately melting the plastic mounting and damaging the motor. When I removed the case, it was full of mulch packed around the motor. The manual does not mention needing to open the case to remove built-up debris. A simple solution would be to provide an access panel on the bottom of the housing so that it can be cleaned out as part of routine maintenance.

I love this tool! Instead of trying to shove leaves in a yard waste bag, I can put them in here, shred them into a yard can, and dump them into a leaf bag. I use less bags and it makes it less of a chore. I have used a different blower/mulcher but that gets tiring...I just drag this with me since it has wheels. Also, with the other mulcher, I constantly am sucking up acorns. I don't do that here since I'm able to pick up the bunches of leaves while the heavier acorns stay behind. The chute cover is sometimes a bit obnoxious to remove (I broke one clip already) and I go through a lot of line but with my oak trees it's a small price to pay to not have to weed out the sticks. It will chew those up but it does use line. Wben the leaves are dry it makes a lot of dust so I wear a mask everything I use it. But I recommend this wholeheartedly to anyone.

Perfect timing

This came in just in time for the fall leaf collection time. We have 8 trees in our yard and fall time is gorgeous but also ridiculously hectic when it comes to collecting the leaves. With this device atleast the mulching part becomes a breeze. Its really easy to use and doesn’t require me putting together a hundred pieces. Also very convenient and easy to move around the yard with the help of the wheels!
