Great generator/motor

I purchased this to use at my cabin at 7200 feet in altitude. The manufacturer claims it is not recommended above 3000 but I couldn't find out why. All engines run richer with less oxygen at higher altitudes but this motor runs as well as my lawn mower and other power tools. Perhaps the motor is reduced form 7 HP to 6 but it works well for me. Great price for dual fuel 3500w generator.

It does not start above 3,000 feet. I had to call the company and I’m waiting for a high altitude jet kit. The jet should have been in the box with the generator. It only costs a few dollars.

Ok but has some design flaws

It burns through 3 gallons of gas in about 4-5 hours. There's no way to turn it down so it's not running full bore the entire time. You can't have propane on and gas on at the same time because they will cancel each other out and shut it off. I had to go out and buy the oil it needed because it didn't have any in the box

Cheap plastic crap!

Generator works. But not even a month after getting it, the plastic housing and pull cord rope assembly broke! Will not recoil correctly, and stops the rope from pulling! Bought it online through a company, so in order to get it fixed, under warranty, I would have to wait for the return shipping label, ship it back to the company to fix, and ship it back to me. Waste of time when I need it! Said take it to store, but stores don't carry it in store! Online only! Needs re-engineering! PLASTIC SHOULD NOT BE USED!

Love the Propane

Easy setup with the propane - functions a little differently than gas, but the convenience and knowing the fuel wont get old and ruin the carburetor is why I bought it. Worked great as a portable to a job to run my skil saw ands reciprocating saw. Getting $100 off the list price was great too.

I added the required amount of oil, connected the LP, adjusted the choke and it started on the second pull. The engine ran smoothly and the output was where it should have been. The only complaint would be on the spot welds connecting the frame together. Very poor quality and will redo on my own as I don't trust them to hold together.

It has fuel options!

My smaller generator needed a repair so l pulled enough cash together to buy this new generator, which was on sale, saving about half the price. The generator can use gas or propane or natural gas. We have used it with gas and it works great! I like that it has fuel options and the ability to run a few things at once.

Good but Bad generator.

Good but not built for longevity. The generator will instantly start, but after 8hours of use, the generator will shutdown and not restart. Until you add oil to engine. The low oil safety works very well. I have purchased three of these for a remote farm. Each work flawlessly for at least a year. The ignition coil with the spark plug WiLL burn off guaranteed. I have had it happened on all my generator and auger made by Sportsman brand equipment. Parts covered under warranty but not Labor. Repairs are not very easy for me.

Runs fine!
However, I believe the amount of propane being used is far more than stated in the information in the description prior to purchase.
There is no Eco-switch either. It runs at one pre-set idle until an increased load is placed on the generator.

Purchased this generator in the aftermath of hurricane. Great for powering up household essentials i.e. refrig, lights,& fans. I like the dual fuel option & used propane with a run time of about 10 hrs on a 20# tank. Also the feature of 2 duplex receptacles. Always cranked on the first or second pull. My only dislike it did not have the wheeled frame. (Must be purchased separately)

I was able to borrow from my uncle during Helene and has performed extremely well. No issues with running on gasoline or propane. Able to run the refrigerator, a table lamp and keep phones charged. Unplugged refrigerator to make coffee due to the resistive load. For the time it was ran used 3/4 of a tank of gasoline and 3/4 or so of a 20# cylinder but only operated for approximately 6 hours per day over 5 days. Power had been off for about a week prior. Uncle has told me to hang onto it, he has larger one. Planning on getting more cylinders. Don't overload it and it will give great service

Well packaged and fast shipping. Received generator, added oil, connected propane line (included) to 5 gallon tank and unit started with second pull. It is a little loud as expected from open frame unit but have electrically loaded it to over 20 amps with no dip in voltage. I have not used gasoline in it since I prefer propane.

I can't really say anything good yet except great customer service with the number on the generator. Within 2 hours of running, 2 motor bolts fell out. Fixed that. After a total of 8 hours run, the feet broke off. I've owned it for less than thirty days and waiting on an AVR to be shipped because it has no voltage. Best of luck if you order one. My guy must have been having a bad day. All maintenance was done as manual instructed.

I have to admit I origionally had my concerns about this product. The reviews looked good for the most part. Those that were not good were horrible enough to cause concern. Plus I was having to work within a budget. HOWEVER! I have found it to be a fantastic piece of equipment! It has worked GREAT, started easy, easy maintenance, the oil fill plug can be a bit persnikitty going back in so watch to make sure you don't cross thread it! Does every thing I ask of it sofar, a few power tools, an 8000 btu AC, flat screen and PS4. GREAT BUY!

Delivery was excellent but I’m a disabled vet If wasn’t for the help at the store I would never be able to lift this into my truck it was just to heavy for me. Thank you Tractor Supply for letting me return it with ease.
