The machine failed

Ran the machine for a little time and it failed. I was trying hard to start it and the pullcord kicked back extremely hard. I tried once more; it kicked back again and pullcord assembly broke. I thought it was me that caused the problem. so took it to a small engine repair. He contacted Kohler and they said bigger problem, take it to a warranty center. So now it is sitting at Blains fleet& farm in Chippewa falls Wisconsin waiting to be worked on.
