Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor manufacturers support This tow bar does not come with the safety chains or u-bolt attachments for either vehicle. Finding and buying safety chains is no big deal but I have yet to be able to find the 4- 7/16 grade 2 u-bolts at any store or online. Why didn't they just send them with it or weld the chain attachments on? If you look at the picture you can see where they go. I called customer service and they said that was a different part # 7024800 which includes the chains and u-bolts but I have been unable to find them and could not order it from them. Their technical support number has been disconnected and one of the customer service numbers goes to a travel agency.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value & Very Adaptable We bought this Reese tow bar because we needed to tow my Mom's broken-down car (a Kia Rio Cinqo) from Arkansas to South Carolina. We weren't 100% sure that we could connect the tow bar directly to the Kia, so my husband took some of his portable tools & extra hardware along just in case. Well within a couple of hours my husband was able to adapt the Reese tow bar to attach securely to the Kia using his portable drill, a piece of steel bar, & some heavy duty clamps. We had no problems at all on the 700+ mile trip. And this was a much cheaper alternative to buying or renting a tow dolly.

Do you need a base plate to use the towbar. Or will it hook up directly to vehicle.

Asked by: Bart55
