I bought this to drain a ditch that has no outlet occasionally. Had the pump for two years now and hasn't let me down yet. I have used this pump close to 200 hours and never had a problem. It will not prime if there is even the slightest leak in the suction hose. Only caution I have for people is the male threads are cast into the pump housing and you should definitely consider buying the gator quick connects to keep from constantly screwing the hose on and off.

I bought this pump to use to occasionally drain low areas of run off water. I ran into three problems with the pump. 1) Very difficult to start whether in warm weather, whether starting engine cold (ambient temperature), after it has been running and left set for 15 minutes, and when engine is still hot. Requires numerous pulls, while trying choke on & off at different engine speeds. On one occasion would only start after removing air filter. 2) Engine will not stay running at full throttle, and acts like it runs out of gas. Engine will stay running so long as throttle is reduced to 80% of full throttle. 3) Pump will not pull water up 10-feet. Despite pump being repeatedly primed. The discharge hose being filled with water and end placed lower than suction side so as to help siphon water.
