Rain Forest 1-3 in. Mixed Beach Pebble, 30 lb.

I used a few bags of this rock around my 5' tall decorative lighthouse located in the backyard. It overlooks a pond, so it is visible to my neighbors. I thought these were a good size and the variety sets it off.

I selected this product after a long arduous search, from the two big box stores, to all of the area landscape supply outlets. On the morning of my project installation, I rented a truck and traveled to three area Tractor Supply store to get over 90 of the bags of stones to line the flowerbeds of my home. Once installed and rinsed off, I realized they were NOT as advertised. The stones were smaller in size and the coloration was more white and light grey than is advertised with little to none of the burgundy and dark grey. The next day, I went back to see if they had received another shipment to compare what I had to what was advertised. The new shipment had the stones that matched the website description perfectly. I’ve since spoken to the mgr at the Conyers store (Alex), who spoke to his district mgr as well as contacted the supplier about this to no avail. The supplier claims the stones are naturally source and they “have no control over how they look.” I subsequently contacted the corporate office who directed me back to Alex. The website states these stones are “hand picked.” There is no written expression anywhere, that these stones would be varied in color or size from what’s advertised. Since I needed more stones to finish my install, I’ve had to move what was installed previously, to less conspicuous locations around my home and replace them with the stones from the new shipment. This was a major inconvenience and cost me more in labor fees to have them moved. I was offered $100 credit! I spent over $1300 for these stones that were the wrong color! That’s not even close to being compensated for the inconvenience, an unsatisfactory outcome for my project and the additional cost I incurred.

I ordered 4 x 30 lb. bags of river rock.. One of them was way less than 30 lbs (perhaps less than 20 lbs. and not full). I was disappointed about the shortage but used what was in the bag anyway.
