Using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 122 g of Pro Plan. We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLAN: Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

I give this to my dogs as small treats throughout the day & they enjoy it. I’m very specific about keeping the nutrition within optimal ranges when it comes to dog food. So this isn’t my top choice for their main diet, but I still trust Purina for their feeding trials and for being WSAVA compliant. I prefer to give my dogs balanced dog food as treats instead of commercial treats with a lot of additives and unnecessary extras. This food works perfectly for that. Both my pups have sensitive stomachs, and one is extremely picky, but this food hasn’t caused any issues and they both love it as a treat. The fun kibble shape is also a plus.

I have an 11-year-old Yorkshire, suddenly one day he began to have many digestive problems, if he ate something other than his croquettes he would have diarrhea, I felt that his food did not complement him, he regularly had yellow vomit until one day I took him to the vet and he told me that when they reach adulthood dogs should be better vitaminized, some commercial brands do not provide enough vitamins and for this reason we decided to change to Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach and it turned out to be wonderful, Since then my dog has not had a stomach ache, he has not had diarrhea and the best thing is that he likes it a lot, he eats at his own hours and has never had episodes of vomiting again

My chiweenie absolutely loves this food! It is worth the money for sure! I tried to switch to the regular small breed (just yo buy a bigger bag to limit the number of times I buy his food, the closest store for this food to me is 30 minutes) but he seems to prefer this one and how kind it is to his tummy. He coat looks absolutely beautiful when on it as well. He will continue to get it the rest of his life! If he is happy, I am happy!

Our dog has had constant irritated ears and itchy paws. He would scratch at his ears until they bled. Our vet said it is a food allergy. We tried all of the expensive hypoallergenic prescription dog food. After seeing no results, and our pockets taking a hit from the prices, We switched to Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach and WOW. I noticed such a huge difference in our dog. He has only been on it a few weeks and we have noticed him licking his paws so much less, and he has not scratched at his ears once! We also got a huge bag and soft food that all 3 of my dogs love! They eat the whole bowl clean.

Several years ago I adopted a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. She was found in a convenience store dumpster and had been eating whatever she could find for several weeks. When I got her, she had sores all over her body. I found out after feeding trials that she has an intolerance to beef and chicken. This food has changed her life. Much of the scarring on her body has healed, and she no longer spends most of her days chewing and scratching herself. I recommend this for dogs with sensitivities like mine has.

This food is a miracle. My senior chihuahua suddenly started refusing food, eating less and less each day. She used to be a maniac for food. We had a dental done, blood work, x-rays, an ultrasound, and lots of medicine to try. We thought maybe IBD so she started getting Rx food - hated both kinds we tried. Tried switching her to a Hill's commercial diet, hated it too. This Purina Pro Plan line has been the only thing that she has eaten with gusto in months. Feels like she's coming back to us, thanks to PPP.

My rescued dog came to us on Hills Science diet. He did not like that. We switched him to Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula, which he liked, but his stools became very soft/loose. Our Vet treated him and also recommended Purina Pro Plan SS&S for the probiotic. He likes it and his stools have remained formed on this diet. The only downside is, the smaller bags are not as economical as the larger bags, but the larger bags would take months for a small breed to finish.

Saved my Pomeranian’s coat!!

My pomeranian’s coat looked terrible. It had stopped growing in and was dry and dull. He had begun balding on his hind legs as well. The groomer recommended getting his thyroid checked, but his last physical at the vet was good, so we decided to try changing his food first. We chose salmon based because our vet said many dogs have developed allergies to chicken. He did not like the food at first so we switched him very slowly and he got used to it. No problems eating it now, but I do sprinkle a half teaspoon of cheese on it. The difference in his coat after 3 months is AMAZING! His coat has started growing back in, it is soft, and even his hind legs have new growth! So glad we tried this!!

Razor blade triangle shape

Our Frenchie just transitioned these past couple weeks from the ProPlan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Small Breed Salmon & Rice Formula (which was round kibble and he loved it) to the adult formula which is sharp and triangle shaped and he has regurgitated one to may times since going to the adult formula 100% from it getting stuck in his poor little throat that he now will not eat it without it being wet and hand fed (he is adverse now to it dry). Please reconsider the shape of this food! It is heartbreaking to watch him choke! Not all dogs chew their food.
Also, the food doesn’t smell like much which to me is weird because salmon stinks/is very fishy smelling. He is less interested in this as a result.

Sodium content increased with the new formula

Packing Changed Fine! Formula Changed Why? And we the pet parent weren’t notified. Why in world would you increase the amount of Salt with the new formula and no where on the new packaging is it noted! 6 months after feeding the new formula to my 11 yr old Chihuahua her health has taken a turn for the worse! Her Dr asked if I changed her food I said Absolutely Not! Her Dr recommend I call for the sodium content. I called Purina Pro Plan March 2021 was told the sodium amount increased it in October, 2020.
