The Precision Products 6 lb. Capacity Push Garden Seeder gives you the ability to easily seed and fertilize your lawn or garden at the same time. This garden seeder holds up to 6 lb. of material and has two heavy-duty hoppers that permit simultaneous planting and fertilizing material for your convenience. This gardening accessory includes a storage pouch and 7 seed plates. It also features two tandem hoppers; one for seed and one for fertilizer.

Best thing I've bought in years!

I can't say enough about what a difference this planter has made the 2 springs I've used it to plant our very large home garden. What used to take hours of back breaking work is now almost effortless fun. The problem I've had is not stopping and planting too much!
I do feel I should mention two negatives: seeds sometimes jam the seed plate, but pulling it in reverse fixes it. The fertilizer and row marker attachments don't work that great and I find it easier to do by hand.
But again, opening the furrow, dropping the seeds and covering them up on a 100 foot row takes at most 3 minutes...!!!

This is a very poorly designed product. The majority of it's components are plastic. This will only work in the looses of soil and then not well. The wheels are driven by a belt which slips when any friction is applied. The planting wheels/cards are also plastic and seeds regularly get jammed. Due to the fact the wheels are driven by a belt a slip with very little force you need to unjam it manually. I generally run a row three or four times and then after germination go back and weed to row for proper spacing.

Not so good

Doesn't feed seeds very well. If only a few seeds, there's skips. Seeds get behind plate and render it inoperable. Must take plate out to clear. Happens frequently with different seeds. Built well, easy to put together just has problems feeding and jams

It’s ok

First off I paid 75 bucks. I only planted corn but had to use the bigger plate as they didn’t fit in the smaller one. Got lots of doubles and inconsistent spacing. I also planted 1000 seeds in 90 seconds. Hard to complain about that. Ended up with good germination and it covers seeds better than I had expected. Fertilizer is just gravity feed through a small hole. Didn’t use it but can’t imagine how it wouldn’t just plug up. Overall with regards to price I think it’s an ok planter. It’s built cheap but I got it cheap.
Yes, I recommend this product.
