Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rechargeable collar and easy to use! Bought the 3/4 acre wireless fence with the extra collar to add to the 1/2 acre set up I already had. Works great and the dogs are safe in the yard not in the woods! I have the newer style rechargeable collar and the old battery powered one and they both work well with the system. It’s easy to use and maintenance free other than the occasional charge! Haven’t charged the collar since purchase about 2 weeks ago and collar still says it’s good to go! Will be buying one more of the 3/4 acre set ups for our third dog and to allow them to get all the way down to the garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Great Escape Ends!! Our dog became famous on the neighborhood watch site due to her constant escaping from the fenced backyard. It was almost funny... but not. Since we bought the wireless fence she has been unable to leave the yard. I came home from work and she was sleeping on the front porch, which is outside the fence. We still have no clue how she gets out. Even treats can't entice her to reveal her secret. Best purchase I ever made. Oh and I failed to mention the little runner only has three good legs!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure yet.. I am having a hard time installing it. I can't seem to get a consistent boundary line to place my flags so I can train my dogs where they can go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom I purchased this product a year ago. I waited this long to write a review because I wanted to test it through all of Wisconsin's different seasons. I couldn't be happier with the performance of this product. This was worth every penny for it to allow my dog to have freedom while still staying on my property without me worrying. My property is about 1.65 acres with slopes and obstacles in the yard. I set the transmitter in my garage so it would be centrally located for the area I wanted him to have access to outside. I am able to leave him out to run and play while I do yard work or various other tasks inside. I've never seen an issue with the collar or transmitter malfunctioning. Some other reviews complained about concerns with metal objects or sloping landscapes. I have a lot of both of these and never had an issue yet. I have a steel roof on my house with aluminum siding, along with ATV's & snowmobiles and trailers parked nearby along with heavily sloped landscaping and have never seen a false alarm or range issue. The range performance is the same every time and within 5 feet of the description. I get excellent battery life from the collar; my dog uses it about 4 hours per day in the spring, summer, fall months and about 1 hour per day in the winter. I am using the collar easily over a month without charging. My dog is a 20-month old black lab mix who has a lot of energy. He never minds wearing the collar, he is actually excited to put it on because he knows he gets to run out and play. I only spent about 2 days training him and he understood how it works. He gets excited and barks when he sees other animals or people, but never goes out of the collar range. When training him, he understood as soon as he heard the warning beeps to immediately turn 180* and walk the other way. This product has been amazing for me as I likely would need to spend every second watching him if I didn't have it. Thank you for a great product!

Our house sits by the road and we have 3/4 of an acre behind us, can we set it so it will still work without being a circle around the house

Asked by: Lbacon
Thank you for your question! The transmitter unit is not weatherproof and must be installed indoors in a dry, well-ventilated area. Placing it in a spot in your home that is very close to your back yard will ensure that you get as much space in the back yard as possible, as the transmitter will always be the center-point of the circular boundary area.

Can this be used on long hair husky

Asked by: 6953viola
Hello, thank you for your question! This system does come with a set of longer contact points, which are 0.6". The longer points normally are used for dogs with heavy undercoats or very thick fur, so these may be the best size for your Husky. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Care Team with any other inquiries you may have by calling 1-800-732-2677.

Can I use this since I have metal railing on my front porch?

Asked by: Berk
Hi there, thank you for your question! As long as your transmitter is kept inside the home, and at least 15-20 feet away from any metal, the railing will not be an issue.

I see that this can be used on very small dogs - would you think it would also work on a cat?

Asked by: Patty5
Hello there! Many customers have used the Stay+Play system for cats, as the small, ergonomic receiver works well for most pets 5 lbs and up. If you need help with training tips feel free to give us a call at 1-800-732-2677, as the included training guide is made for dogs.

We have a corgi. They have a top coat and undercoat of fur. They are also originally breed as a herding dog. We are thinking about getting this system for our second home. Would this be a good option?

Asked by: mel1968
Thank you for your question, Mel! This system should work great for a corgi! The system includes both long and short contact points for the collar, so the longer contact points can be used for your corgi's thicker coat. In some cases it may be necessary to trim (not shave) the fur around where the collar sits on the neck, but this is not always necessary.

What is the product reaction, if the collar gets wet?

Asked by: RGR1
Hello! The collar is waterproof and will still function even if wet. Our collars are thoroughly tested for these types of conditions to ensure that there are no negative consequences. It is possible for water to make the static correction feel slightly less or more intense however this should be a very minimal difference that is barely, if at all, perceivable.

How many feet is a 3/4 of a acre?

Asked by: Rob 57
Thanks for your question, Rob! 3/4 of an acre is approximately 32670 square feet, but since the unit uses a circular boundary signal, a better way to get an idea of the amount of area the system covers is to go by the radius of the signal, which is up to 105 feet in all directions around the transmitter.

According to reviews the collar sometimes stop working after a year. Requiring the purchase of another collar is this a common problem? How long do you average the collars lasting before another collar purchase is necessary?

Asked by: Katelyn17
Thanks for your question, Katelyn! Our collars are designed to last. With that being, these do have a rechargeable battery inside. As with all rechargeable batteries, it may get to the point that it will no longer charge. If this occurs, a replacement collar will be needed. With proper charging, the estimated lifespan of the internal battery is 3-5 years. Please note though, we do offer wireless fence collars that utilize a replaceable RFA-67 battery instead.
