I ordered two pairs of these mittens for alpine skiing, and after using them only 4-5 times, it's probably too early to know how well they will work in the long run. So far, one pair has performed fine with the batteries lasting as expected. The second pair, however, had one battery that quit functioning properly, and a Tractor Supply customer service representative did an exceptional job of quickly sending me replacement batteries (the representative gets 5 stars!). But even without using the heating function, these mittens are quite warm, as well as being soft on the interior and very comfortable. The drawstring around the wrist helps keep hands warm and snow out.
