For optimal performance of this heater, it is strongly suggested that K-1 kerosene be used, especially in temperatures lower than 26 degrees Fahrenheit (-3 Celcius). This Master heater is CSA certified for use with K-1 kerosene, no. 1 & no. 2 diesel, JP8/Jet A Fuel, no. 1 and no. 2 fuel oil. Stay warm!2 years agoHelpful?

- A: Hi there, According to the vendor: Regarding the question if they could use the MH-80T-KFA inside a bus. The short answer is that it would not be recommended on a stationary bus, but definitely should not be used if the bus is moving. A minimum of three square feet (2,800 sq cm) opening of outside air for every 100,000 Btu/Hr. is required for ventilation. The MH-80T-KFA cannot be used in Massachusetts or New York City in an indoor setting (even inside a bus), they will also need a permit in MA from the Fire Marshal. Kerosene and diesel will smell when combusted. The emission odors will be blown into the space and possibly be absorbed by materials inside the bus.2 years agoHelpful?

Q: Hi, I purchased this last year. I filled the tank used it twice but it seemed to be dripping kerosene from the tanks rim area anytime I moved it. Is this a factory defect or is there a breather type vent on the tank? For obvious reasons I am concerned

It blows Hot and Heavy!

This thing flat worked for what I needed it for but it is loud. This is my first forced air heater so they probably are all like that but it sounds like a jet engine. Also, it got pretty expensive to run on the kerosene, didn't quite last as long as I thought it would have. But it would heat up my entire garage in about 2-3 minutes, I'd turn it on every 15 minutes or so to warm back up. After going through two buckets of kerosene I switched to diesel and ventilated the area better. Also, this thing will cut off when it gets low on fuel, not empty. I'd tilt the hole thing over to get it to get the last of the kerosene, then it ran for another 20 minutes or more. Only used during this past cold season and no major issues, I think it's better used outdoors or well ventilated buildings/garage with diesel for the fuel. Only recommend for certain applications.

Bad design and poor build quality.

The heater is easy to use. It started fine and worked well. After the first use I shut it off. An hour later the fuel tank was leaking. To empty the tank you have to flip the entire unit over. When I did this both of the handles I was holding broke. The result was about a gallon of kerosene spilled on me and my floor. The handles use small self tapping screws to hold them on. Poor design. Between that and the leak there could have been a real disaster. I’ll return the unit and try another one.

Broke in 4 months, pathetic "warranty".

Heater is 4 months old and blowing kerosene out the front of the heater. Called the manufacturer and I can pay to have them ship the parts and fix it myself of drive 2 hours to drop it off at repair shop and drive 2 hours to pick it up. I bought 3 Master heaters this past fall and will be the last Master heaters I buy.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A little Energizer Bunny

This is a little blow torch of a heater. Heated a large living-dining-kitchen with a 14 foot cathedral ceiling and no insulation (job site) from 10 degrees F to 45 degrees in a few hours. It is about 3 feet long, not too heavy and holds about two gallons of fuel…so it is easy to manage and rarely needs filled.
It is probably worth noting that it has to stay plugged in the whole time it is running, not just for starting. I got a carbon monoxide detector to put nearby, but it never went off.
Yes, I recommend this product.
