This unit has a remote and it works awesomeThis is the first time that I purchase a LG a/c window unit, and so far Im very pleased and happy with this unit. I was told I needed a unit at least a 18,000 btu are larger, well I can tell you that this unit is well enough for the area 15’x 30’ = 450 sq ft and only runs on 72 degrees. How can I connect the wifi to my air conditioner and how do I set it on my iPhone

To use the Wi-Fi and app, the Smart AC must be registered on the Smart ThinQ website. You would need to search and download "LG SMART AC" from the App Store. Once downloaded, create a user account through the LG SMART AC APP or online at http://us.smartthinq.com. Then you would log in and register the air conditioner. To activate the Wi-Fi on the A/C, you must press and hold the Fan Speed and Mode buttons on the REMOTE CONTROL for 2 seconds. The Wi-Fi indicator on the A/C display will light up when it is active.

My window ac isn't really blowing that cool. Is there a refrigerant or something I can use, or have to refill, for it to blow cold again?

A general rule of thumb in home networking says that WiFi routers operating on the traditional 2.4 GHz band reach up to 150 feet (46 m) indoors and 300 feet (92 m) outdoors. Older 802.11a routers that ran on 5 GHz bands reached approximately one-third of these distances. Roof eave partially covers the A/C on the outside. Rain hits the outside of A/C. Is this a danger or cause any problem?

I have an older unit of same model. I don’t use the side panels on my old unit. It states you need 27” in width. My old unit fits. It’s about 24” wide without the side panels. My old unit is the same size as this new unit. It should fit? Shouldn’t it?

Portable Air Conditioners like the LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP0817WSR come with a supplied Window Installation Kit that is designed to fit into either Vertical-Sliding or Casement-Style Windows and the kit itself will not protrude into the room but the hose will extend into the room from the window venting panel that it has to be attached to to vent the unit outdoors...^IFV

How do I remove the front grill ?
Behind the removable filter is so dirty.

The front grill can be removed by removing the screw that fastens the front grill. From there, pull the front grill from the right side and remove the front grill. Please be aware there are 4 hooks holding it in place.
