LG 7,500 BTU Air Conditioner with 3,850 BTU Supplemental Heat Function is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 98.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet AC/Heating Unit Performs Well This unit does well in heating and cooling a North Texas, 400 square foot office which has about 35 feet of 6 foot high windows. In severe weather we open double doors from the main house to suppliment heating and cooling of the office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heats well we ended up buying one of these about 6 weeks ago, it heats very well, which is mostly why we bought it(for heat).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to operate Install was a snap. Very easy to operate. Saving money on electric. Another great product from LG

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Minimal Heating Ability! I have had two LG 220 v air con/heater units working great in my house for years. Those units produce a lot of heat in the winter here. So I bought this unit for a smaller room which didn't have a 220 volt outlet. Much to my surprise, when installed this LW8016HR produced a very subpar amount of heat, even at max temp setting and running for some time. So don't buy this smaller unit if you need heat. Otoh, the air conditioning on this unit works fine. But that's not why I bought it. Yesterday I uninstalled it and took it back to Home Depot for a full refund.

which side is the power cord

Asked by: steve43
The power cord on the LG 7500 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW8016HR and on all other LG Window Air Conditioners is always on the same side as the control panel. It exists the casing in the lower right corner under the control panel...^IFV

Do you need to use a certain kind of extension cord? Or you can use anyone.

My United didn’t get real hot it’s a lg lw8016hr

Asked by: Rooseveltw
If you are referring to the heat option, it is for supplemental heat only and not primary heat. This unit is not intended to heat a room or home. ^AC

Heatpump or just strip heat?

Asked by: Wayne djhdjdks
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The heater is not a heat pump. This model has an electric heater, near the fan, which is larger than a standard heat strip.

Is it suppose to throw out cool air when you turn in the heater? I turn it on and I don’t feel much heat. It kind of feels like the fan and heater are on at the same time.

Can unit be installed through wall instead of window

Asked by: Kermit
Yes. I had a hole cut through the wall per the dimensions of the required opening. I used a Sawzall, and it was tough to get a straight cut, but after a little trimming, it slid in. I then chaulked around the outside edge to minimize air loss. Works well for 18 months of south Texas heat.
