Rated 3 out of 5 by from Air cools fast, I don't know about the heat. I'm not happy with how cheaply it is made. It does cool well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for room. I have a large family room and needed something that would heat and cool it using a 120 outlet. this was perfect. Cools the whole room just right. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One powerful little unit! Our contractor recommended this for our loft that we enclosed to be a bedroom. The LG heater/air conditioner is small but powerfully regulates the temperature. The only thing that would make it more perfect is an oscillating feature. Rated 3 out of 5 by from heating = 25% the efficiency of the cooling It never says so in the specs, but this AC uses resistance heat, which is 25% (1/4) the efficiency of the heat pump. The heat pump is how the AC works in the cooling mode. In the cooling mode it uses 670 watts of input power to produce 7500 BTU's of cooling. In the heat mode it uses 1260 watts of input power to produce 3850 BTU's of heat. In other words in the heating mode, it uses twice the input power to get half the BTU output than it does in the cooling mode. Resistance heating is what all space heaters use and is the most inefficient and expensive way to generate heat from electricity. If you want expensive heat, just use a space heater.

Heatpump or just strip heat?

Asked by: Wayne djhdjdks
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The heater is not a heat pump. This model has an electric heater, near the fan, which is larger than a standard heat strip.
