Poor wedge slide design

Bought this unit from Tractor Supply. After 10 minutes of splitting wood, discovered the wedge was destroying the main bar as it slid across it. After further investigation, realized it a very cheap and poor design. There's so much vertical clearance from bottom of wedge slide and the main bar it slide across that the wedge is actually angled down so just the horizontal leading edge dis into the bar. The other issue I noticed is the wedge slide is totally encased in track guides in the return postion. That means that wood debris cannot fall off the man bar so it ends up much a garbage compactor action, creating undue stress & pressure on the cylinder. I returned the unit and TS refunded my $$ w/o any hassle. The other splitters they had on hand were of the same design so I passed on purchasing another unit.

Not a good buy

So far, just bought today, trouble starting it. tried for over an hour before it finally started and ran for 5 minutes then stopped. Bogged down and stopped running while splitting a piece of wood. For the price this is a piece of crap! Think I will return it tomorrow.

So far so good to splitter has split any and everything I've put on it and I put some monster size pieces of oak with nuts and it might slow down for a second but it splits right through and the cycle time is really quick which is nice and it also doesn't weigh as much as your other splitters so it's a lot easier to move around. Very happy with deciding to get the huskee 20 ton splitter

I love this splitter. I did a cord in about 45 minutes. Worked perfectly in both the vertical and horizontal positions. I was a breeze to work with, started on the 2nd pull. I definitely recommend this splitter!

The product brand new out of the box took my husband and I over an hour to get it working.
Worked good untill we stopped using it for the day. We could not get it running again. so I have this piece of junk sitting in my Pole Barn gathering rust.

Very nice machine, very easy to use and powerful. Has a two stages off power. Splits easily and then will kick in extra hydraulic power when needed to get through. My only complaint is how easily debris gets stuck at the two ends of the machine. It's definitely not a deal breaker just something small you have to deal with. The hydraulic hoses hang a little low to the ground as well could be an issue getting them snagged if you drive it off-road or anywhere with debris sticking up. Very easy to stand up into the vertical position. Overall this is a great machine for the money.

Decent little unit but it came with a bad tire and then I had an issue with a fitting and customer service is horrendous. The money I’ll spend fixing it should have been spent on a better model.
Hydraulics guy said they can’t even fix hoses and fittings because they’re not standard parts.

Great Log Splitter that is well built. It came full of engine oil and hydraulic fluid. The engine starts great. I appreciate the fuel cutoff switch at the carburetor. The package with the books and bolt kit got water damage prior to purchase. The bolts were corroded and rusty and the manuals unusable. I connected YTL International and they were very nice and helpful. YTL had a manual and bolt kit mailed to me.

I bought this splitter about 4 months ago and I love it. I read reviews on this product, and some had problems with it. I have had no issues whatsoever with it. I've had no problem splitting 18 to 20 inch diameter logs cut 18 inches long. Starts easy. For me it's been a good product at a reasonable price.

Product works as advertised my problem is when using for the second time hydraulic oil is leaking at the threads where it goes into the cylinder. I tried to tightening and it is still leaking.

Operates wonderfully but could use a side catcher

I purchased the 20 ton husked 2 weeks ago. It has plenty of power, engine starts quickly. I wish it came with a side log catcher like the harbor freight predator. Wood shavings do get embedded in the back of the wedge pusher that takes time to clean it out. What kind of grease should be used to lubricate the main wedge beam? Does TSC sell a compatible log catcher for this splitter?

Operates well, though I have few hours on it. After reading other reviews I grease the slide channel prior to use and clean it after. Engine was full of oil but the hydraulic reservoir was 1.5 gallons low, so make sure you check closely prior to operating.

Wow!! Great splitter!

Bought it today on sale. The machine worked flawlessly splitting some really big stuff. What I really like about this splitter is the cycle time and large wedge. It also split some really knotty wood and never bogged down. Plenty of power and it pulls behind my little mini truck all over my property. I highly recommend this splitter.

Unit functions well. Unfortunately one tire keeps losing air slow leak going flat. What a pain! I'll test the extended warranty and request new tire & wheel. Operator manual needs to better describe need to grease the main beam the wedge slides on. It only mentions in maintenance chart small print. This might explain complaints of c wedge digging into beam.

A buddy and my self where splitting with axes after a few hours he said wish we had a splitter. I said go in halves he said ok so we picked this one up at the local TSC. worked like a charm only time we bogged it was on a pretty bad knot alrhough it cut it. Split two pretty big oaks he had cut down
