Can't Say Enough Good Things About This Food

I have had my 10 year old Pit/Staffy terrier mix on this senior formula for 2 years now, I also use Hill's Science Diet sensitive skin and stomach turkey and rice wet food as a topper. It helps keep her stools on the firm side and once her arthritis diagnosis (both back hind legs) was made i switched to this 7+ formula and she just bounces back off the floor and jumps on the couch! She has been recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. She just had her 6 month re-check on her ACHT blood test and also a full blood panel and she's good, all her levels are where they should be and the vet is very happy. She's been on Vetoryl for 6 months now along with Gabapentin and Carprofen for 2 years. I swear it's this food from Hill's Science Diet keeping her healthy. Thank You So Much!!!!!

Our 14 year old Australian Terrier transitioned easily to this food. She seemed to enjoy the food straight away and didn't mind changing food.
She normally eats another premium brand dog food for senior dogs.
We noticed no changes in her at all on this food. She maintained good health and was very active.
We would happily buy this food for her to continue on with.

Nutritious Dog Food

The Science Diet for mature dogs is a nutritional dry food for dogs ages 7+. I was very happy to receive this product to test on my 15 year old dog, Roxy. I had no trouble introducing the biscuits to her as she liked them immediately which was amazing. The biscuits are definitely top of the line, supporting dogs in many ways such as with their digestion, immune and organ health. I would repurchase the biscuits for my dog but the one con is they are fairly expensive. If you can afford these biscuits for your dog I would highly recommend them.

A winner with my dog

My extremely picky senior dog took so well to this food! She usually sticks to the same food however the instructions to transition her diet was easy and found that she seemed to enjoy it! She is a smaller dog and the size of the biscuits was a little larger than her usual. Her tummy seemed to agree with this food and her coat also appears slightly less coarse.

Great food for older dogs

I am really impressed and happy with the Hill’s Science Diet Adult 7+ dog food. I have been giving it to my 7 year old Newfoundland dog for the last five weeks and she has responded really well to it. The transition to the new food was seamless and clearly shows how sensitive the dog food ingredients are since my dog’s belly has been tolerating the food really well. I’m pretty happy with the ingredients, particularly that it includes omega-6 for her joints, brain health, and coat. I also appreciate the attention paid to crafting a dog food for older dogs since I want to optimise my dog’s health to give her as many healthy and active years for as long as possible. I also like that the ingredients don’t include any artificial flavours or preservatives, and that it’s made in the USA with reputable ingredients since my dog’s safety is also paramount. Overall a great product and one my dog clearly approves of since she devours her bowl of Hill’s Science Diet Adult 7+ every time she gets it.

Fussy dog approved!

My old and fussy Great Dane X had no issues transitioning to Hill’s Science Diet 7+. Always waited eagerly for dinner time and finished with a full and satisfied tummy. No issues with tummy upset after transitioning and even with his age noticed less bloat and better conditioning to his coat than with his previous supermarket brand dog food.

Its all in the coat

My dog is an 8 year old Kelpie x Rotti. From his reaction alone he loved these biscuits. We transitioned him from his previous food to this one over time and he not only seemed to show high interest in the food and eating it but it also did not upset his tummy. His bowel movements were regular and we found that his coat was noticeably more shiny towards the end of the month. The only thing I would have to comment slightly negative on would be that I don't like the Velcro opening and would prefer a resealable zip lock style seal.

My dog has been eating Hill Science since a puppy - she is now 10 years. She is only a small dog and has only eaten the small size dry food. I was not sure how she would take to this slightly larger size. Well, I didnt need to worry as she jumped right into it. Finished the bowl off in no time. Each time I served it up she was there waiting for it. I even noticed a couple of times, if she didnt finish it all, our 2 cats gave it a go and seemed to enjoy it also.

Hill’s Science Diet is an excellent and high quality dog food. It was first recommended to me by a vet many years ago. And recommended when my dog had a stomach infection and another time when my dog had a pancreas infection. The food is super high quality and loved by my dog. I was really excited to try the seniors dog type as o hadn’t tried this one. My dog loved it. My dog had no negative issues or side effects. I’d definitely recommend it to others especially to help senior dogs get all their nutritional needs. Help with their energy levels and their joint health.

I think the science diet 7+ senior dog food is a high quality product aimed for older dogs health.
One thing I found with my Beagle X jack Russell (who is 13 tomorrow) is that she became very energetic after eating this dry food, which has been both good and bad. I thought she had finally outgrown her cheeky behaviour as she was ageing, but it would seem that although this food is aged for 7+ senior dogs, it's like they mixed in an energy supplement. The only thing that has changed is her diet to this dry food.

Changed my dogs poo, too dry

My dog, who is American Stuffy, didn’t like the food as much as usual. Daphne usually never leaves a piece in the bowl, but with this food she wasn’t finishing. She was eating without an enthusiasm. Also her poo has changed and she overall had low energy.

My old girl loved it

I was sceptical at first, my 14 year old border collie x kelpie has never been a fan of senior dry food. But after giving her the food for a few days she was happy to have it every day.
I no longer had to mix rice or pasta through her food just to get her to eat it. Definitely pretty happy with the food.

From the moment we opened the bag it was on for young and old - Penny 16yrs, Yoda 9yrs old and our daughter's dog Margret 5yrs could not get enough, from breakfast to dinner time everybody enjoyed their food time.

My dog really enjoyed this dry dog food! Sometimes he can be a bit picky and leave food behind, but with this one he'd often eat every last bit. It's hard to say exactly how it impact his wellbeing because unfortunately he is in his very golden years, but the fact he still enjoyed it so much reflects the quality for me. From a human perspective, the bag is a great size and the velcro style closure is great for keeping things fresh.

Hill's Science Diet for older dogs

Thank you for giving us the chance to trial the Hills Science for Adult dogs 7+. Jet is a 14 year old dog who loves his food so I didn't anticipate too many problems but I was wrong. He really didn't like it at all. The food is made from natural ingredients with added vitamins minerals and amino acids to support healthy heart, bladder and kidneys. The instructions were very clear on transitioning to the new food for the first 7 days. For the first few days it was mixed with his normal food, gradually increasing the amount of Hills. After that he was solely on the Hills. I noticed he quite often left the Hills when it was mixed in with his normal food. After the 7 days, he ate it for the first couple of days but then started leaving it, he sometimes would go back and finish it the next morning but not always. He's had his 4 weeks but I'm hesitant to keep going so I think I will have to mix in his old food again. I'm interested to read other reviews, perhaps my old boy is just too fussy!

We were offered the opportunity to test the Hills Science Diet Adult 7+ dog food, as part of the Home Tester Club.
We have a beautiful Kelpie X labrador named Jessie aged 7+ years whom we adore.
Recently we noticed that Jessie had begun to loose weight and become alittle fussier with her food,
So with this opportunity we decided to Test Hills Science.
We followed all instructions, and have now trialed the product for 4 weeks.
What a difference!
Jessie was alittle wary initially, however now she cannot wait for her meals and is so excited!
Since starting HIlls science diet adult 7+, Jessie has demolished every bite and no longer tried to steal the cats meals.
She is more satiated and her energy has gone through the roof -she likes a puppy again.
Her cat is softer shinier and smoother, her breath smells better and over she is just happier. We also noted that the size of the kibble is good for older adult dogs as far as size and texture. We will be buying as part of a full diet!

The old boys new favourite

Our old boy had zero hesitation with the smell or taste of his new Hill’s Science Diet from day one. In the first week or two, he had a bit of gas and slightly more frequent bowel movements while adjusting, but once he settled into the new diet, he was bouncing around like he was 3 years old again.
Since then, he’s been happy, able to hold more weight, full of energy, and his coat looks great. Overall, a high-quality food — just make sure to allow a proper transition period

I was really surprised that the closure of the bag was velcro and loved how easy it was to open and close, and stayed closed. The biscuits themselves were a great shape and texture, they did not smell off putting and my dog absolutely loved them. He is is typically a fussy eater but did not hesitate to eat Hills dog food.

My dog’s digestion doesn’t seem to be good compared to the food that she used to have before. Also even if I give her the same amount, she seems always hungry and asks for more.
