Green works mower

At first assembly was difficult. It was hard to align the mower handle to the other part of the handle. One was wider that the other. The connector handles are plastic and felt as though they would brake. Took several attempts to tighten. Adjustable mower height is a good feature. Mower does not do well in "tall" grass. Needed to make a passes on maximum height, then others in lower settings. Seems to do well on regular maintenance lawns. Light weight is a positive feature.

Hello Cliff,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the mower lightweight and appreciated the adjustable cutting height for regular maintenance mowing.
We’re sorry to hear the initial assembly process was frustrating, especially when aligning and tightening the handle sections. We understand how that can take away from the first experience with a new mower.
For taller or thicker grass, it’s normal for smaller cordless mowers to perform best when starting at a higher cutting height and gradually lowering if needed. The owner’s manual also recommends reducing walking speed in thicker grass to improve cutting performance and discharge.
We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the handle construction and overall cutting performance, as it helps us continue improving our products and user experience. If you have any questions or would like assistance with setup or operation tips, our support team can be reached at 1-888-909-6757. GreenworksTools

A series of disappointments and aggravations

This mower either has a bad battery connection, bad battery, or both. One day it stubbornly refuses to run, the next it's fine, even though I literally did nothing. Then after a half hour of operation it quits again, though the battery gauge says it still has 3/4 charge. Then, the charger refuses to charge the battery, flashing red, even though it's had hours to cool down. Just one failure after another. Except that it's quiet. Yes, when it won't run it's certainly quiet.
ProsQuiet

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello DGSJ. We are sorry to hear about the frustrating experience, as intermittent power and charging issues are not typical for this unit. Based on what you are describing, there are a few things worth checking that often resolve this type of behavior. First, remove the battery and inspect the battery terminals and mower contacts for any dirt, grass buildup, or moisture, as even a small amount of debris can interrupt the connection, cleaning the contacts with a dry cloth can help ensure a solid connection. When reinstalling the battery, make sure it clicks firmly into place, as a loose fit can cause the mower to cut in and out during use. It is also helpful to try a full reset by removing the battery for several minutes before reinserting it. Regarding the charger flashing red, this typically indicates a temperature or fault condition, so confirm the battery is being charged in a moderate environment (not too hot or cold), and try plugging the charger into a different outlet to rule out a power issue .If you continue to experience inconsistent operation after these steps, we recommend contacting support with your model and serial number so we can assist with further service options. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Defective and disappointing

I haven't even had this mower two months yet, but on a full charge it acts like the battery is empty. It's the season when the lawn is growing aggressively, but I'm back to using my old Brill push mower.

Hello DGFH. Sorry to hear about your experience that is not the expected performance, especially with a fully charged battery. When a mower starts acting like the battery is depleted, it is often related to battery condition, charging, or operating conditions rather than immediate failure. A few things to check 1. Make sure the battery is fully seated in the mower and that the contacts are clean and free of debris 2. Confirm the charger is completing a full charge cycle (solid green indicator) and try a different outlet if possible 3. Allow the battery to cool before charging if it was recently used, as temperature can affect performance. Cutting conditions can also have a big impact, tall, thick, or damp grass will cause the mower to draw more power and may make it seem like the battery is draining unusually fast, so starting at a higher deck setting and making a gradual second pass can help. It is also worth checking the underside of the deck for grass buildup and ensuring the blade is sharp, as both can reduce efficiency and increase power draw. If the mower continues to behave this way under normal conditions after these checks, we recommend reaching out for warranty support, either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757 we would be happy to help get.
