The safe it self is a huge up grade! Love the face it's super heavy, and stores alot of stuff. Was not happy to see there was some damage. When the store loaded it I noticed the box had damage to the front. I asked if they could possibly get one that the box wasn't damaged. They wouldn't. I got it home and was not happy. Fire resistance is a pluse. Lock security and pluse,organization beautiful, pry resistance and pluse.

This safe is the best safe out there for the money. On par with more expensive Browning safes that I own. My only complaint would be I wish it had a hole in the back for an outlet but other than that it’s awesome.

Shelf mounting brackets, not level to one another, rust all over the bottom of the gun safe. Additional mowing holes drilled through carpet where the factory messed up mounting the shelving. Missing shelving brackets.
Would return if I hadn’t already bolted it down.

The biggest downside I discovered is the gun holders on the door protrude into the main portion of the safe over 7 inches. This makes it impossible to fill up the outer row of guns. You have to sit them sideways, which greatly reduces the amount it will hold. I did discover you can take the buttock bases off the door. So depending on which you value more, it is a little configurable. But overall disappointing. Otherwise the safe it’s great. I would have preferred. It came preinstalled with lighting, like my other safe. But was easy enough to solve on my own.

I’ve been in the market for a gun safe and knew that TSC runs sale periodically. Went there one day and they had the Field and Stream by Browning 40 gun safe on sale. So I checked it out comparing it to the other safes there. The F/S definitely has some nicer features, especially at the sale price. The door long gun shelf with the scope indent is worth the difference alone. Imagine the concept of being able to access 25 of your guns without trying to play s game of Jenga.

Guns are easy to access. It will not hold the number of guns stated, but no gun safe does. There are to two rows of guns racks in the body of the safe, if you put guns on the door there is not room for guns in the front row. Except the far left position. Filling the back row and the door, make all the guns accessible without moving anything.

Definitely not fitting 40 in here, there may be spots for that but its not happening, especially if you have a large volume of bolt action or sidelock rifles. The quick access rack on the door hits your other rifles when you have them on the front rack on the right side. Also be careful when moving the shelves, one of my shelves got hung up while moving and ripped part of the rail system off the wall. It was an easy fix with a new screw going slow with even pressure but that's a bit ridiculous for a brand new safe. Also the outside finish is scratched or scuffed fairly easily. The lock system works well so far and the code is easy to set up, unsure of battery life over time or with use. I hope the fireproofing is as good as they claim at 1400 for an hour but I really don't want to find out. Overall it seems like a good safe for the money, it does what it's supposed to do and that's hold guns.

This is a lot of safe at this price point. It has more volume than other 40 gun safes, has a better fire protection rating, has a better designed walking mechanism, what happened? looks great, and feels like quality. I love the quick access rifle rack with scope reliefs inside the door as well as pouches for accessories. I would like for the adjustable shelves to have more versatility to support my organization, but overall I’m very happy. Would recommend.

I love the safe. It’s every thing I expected. BUT ! We paid almost $200 to have it shipped to our home. It arrived with a big scratch/gouge on the side (noted by the delivery driver) and the delivery driver could only unload it in the driveway. He was not allowed to wheel it into the house. That’s the entire reason we had it shipped because we could not lift nor move a 600 safe. The website should have stated this in the delivery message. What a disaster this purchase has been. Never again TS.

We purchased this safe online and paid almost $200 to have it delivered, because we had no way to transport the safe. Upon arrival at our home, the delivery guy and I discovered a big gauge in the side of the safe. It was a scrape so deep it went thru several layers of metal. When I called customer service, we were offered only $200 for compensation or we could return the safe. This safe is the heaviest one I have ever owned. Returning it is not an option. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A LARGE ITEM FROM TS ! Shame on you TS!!!! You lost two loyal customers over this blunder.

The safe itself is great. Very well made, easy to drill the play hole in the back to install an outlet. The problem was delivery. The delivery guy saiid he could not, by policy, bring it in the house. Best he could do was put it in the garage. But since I was expected the delivery would be to the first floor inside, I wasn’t prepared to get a 600 lb safe up one step and into the room off my garage. Had I known I could’ve had some help and an appliance dolly on standby.

The safe is good. Typical safe numbers as it says 40, but fits like 12. The door storage is nice, but the bottom of your stocks may hit and push the guns on the inside. The spots on the door for scopes is nice, but they arent quite lined up the best with the rack on the door. Meaning that each one is big enough for 3 scopes, but the way the spacing on the rack is, you may only fit 2. And larger scopes will not fit. Lots of pockets on the door for accessories, but not really useable if you use the door to store guns. My guns have scopes and accessories on them, and i have 12 in there, and it is absolutely packed using one side for guns, and the other side, i'm using the shelves for ammo and supply storage. So you can fit more in there if you dont use the shelving on the other side. I can also fit about 4 more guns if i utilize every space on the door providing those guns dont have any more scopes or accessories.. everything sounds a little negative, but its not bad. Typical of any safe you buy where the numbers and features are embelished. It looks good, and i like it alot

Fairly good quality safe (my second safe), no way it will hold 40 guns, maybe 30 +. Putting long guns in the door renders the storage pockets in the door useless. Shotguns with 28+ inch barrels will not fit in this safe. Moving or adjusting the shelves is a royal pain with the little clips. Overall not a bad safe for the price, it’s good & heavy at over 550 lbs. CS at FS/Browning appears to be good just be aware of the safe’s limitations.

Excellent safe and value. Scope pockets work as advertised and door holds long guns. Only issue was at loading the forklift operator damaged the paint below the door. Unfortunately I did not notice until I offloaded the safe. Pay attention to the forklift operator and check for damage before you leave the parking lot.
