Used and Damaged Mower

The store sold me a used mower that was damaged. When they went to load it on my trailer I noticed the dried clumps of grass stuck in the mower deck. They lied and said it came off the truck on Monday. I asked for my money back and went somewhere else to purchase a new one.

Be careful when purchasing any lawn equpiment...

This was supposed to be brand new when purchased. When it arrived it looked as if it had been used. Never did get a manual for it as it was lost before it came to me. I never was able to get it to run. Come to find out there was something wrong with it, after multiple call between tractor supply and myself i was able to finally get a new one delivered, only after having the original for over a week and not being able to use it at all. To get the new one delivered was a nightmare. I was told one thing and another was done. I will deff be looking elsewhere the next time i need to purchase a lawn mower.

Zt1 42" bought two of these one from tsc and one from Cub cadet dealer. The only difference i can find is the mower deck. I love both mowers and would buy again. Engine very smoothe. I actually enjoy mowing my yards now. Very fun to drive.

Do not buy cub cadet

Bought 10 months ago and now doesn't start. Battery fully charged, replaced the fuse, full tank of gas, oil and spark plug is fine. Spent $3500 thinking i was eliminating any mower headaches for a few years. Wish I had my 15 year old craftsman back that I sold. It at least ran fine. On top of that I only own a car, no truck or trailer to get it to a repair shop, which is why I spent $3500 so I wouldn't have to. Avoid cub cadet and don't get played like a fool, like I did.

Great mower

Iv had this unit for about 3 years now and it never let me down. The only thing I think they can do better on is the battery. I swapped it out for a larger one so I can start and stop the machine more than 5 times and have it die. I do the normal oil and filter changes and the kawasaki runs great and smooth.

I've had my Cub Cadet for 5 years. I have no major complaints. It cuts clean and level. It always starts on the first try. I do keep up with the regular maintenance (oil changes, blade sharpen/change, etc). The only issue I had was a loose rivnut on the flip up seat hinge. It came that way from the factory, easily fixed with a rivnut tool. I also wish they offered a proper line stripping attachment, one that attaches to the rear instead of the front.

My ZT1 42 just finished its 3 mowing season. I have had it in for winter service each year.
There have been zero problems with this mower. When I get it back from annual maintenance, it is like a brand new mower. Looking forward to many more seasons of use.

I purchased my ZT1-42 and it is an excellent product!
The maintenance on this product from year to year is absolutely fantastic. Only have to sharpen blades and change the oil! The motor is outstanding. It does a great job on an acre. I have a flat lawn with only one incline and the finish product is beautiful!
I weigh 300lbs and it carries me without hesitation.
I can almost mow two times with a full tank of gas and I never have to top off the oil. It always reads "full!"
I am thrilled to be a "Cub Cadet" owner.
PS. I have had multiple back surgeries and the seat, leg room and "zero turn" is the way to go. I just love that I'm able to mow my own lawn! It truly gives me a sense of accomplishment!

Buy locally, not from Cub Cadet

Do not buy direct from Cub Cadet. Unit arrived heavily damaged and instead of Cub Cadet shipping a new unit, it took 3.5-months to get my money back. I should have spent the extra $225 and bought from Tractor Supply in the first place. Tractor Supply delivered same day, and the unit was ready to mow. Very happy with the unit and Tractor Supply. Mows great, strong engine, and looking forward to pushing snow with the snow blade attachment.

So far it is a good mower. A little bigger than what I'm used to, but it takes less time now to mow the lawn. I wish the belts were covered so they don't get clogged with the grass after every time you mow. But so far no problems with it.

I wasn’t going to buy this one but I chose it because of the Kawasaki engine.
They ran a special for store credit card holders 4 years no interest so I couldn’t pass that up. I mean when you factor in inflation that’s like free money right there.
I went on YouTube and checked out the videos of this and I did some of the improvements recommended. Changed out the plastic seat springs with some craftsman steel seat springs I found on eBay,
made a seat stopper cord so it doesn’t fold all the way down when you open it up to look under.
Make sure you check the tire pressure, the rears are max 10 psi, well whoever put this together was stoned or something and ran them up to 24 psi which made the ride feel like kidney jarring harshness.
Now that I have the tires at 8 psi and the better seat springs it rides smooth as silk even on my bumpy lawn.
The floor panel should be lifted after you mow so that the deck can be cleaned off but they decided to bolt it down so that you need a wrench every time you need to lift it. Well if you look under the seat there
are two thumb screws holding it down which are the same size and thread as the front cover so took one of them and swapped it since I never need to move the seat anyway now I can easily remove the front floor
cover for cleaning. Seems to cut nice and runs like a scalded dog

Cub cadet zero turn eth wrong tire on 8/25/2025. Talked to manager she was suppose to get right tire. Never called I called on 9/8 still haven’t ordered it. Called tractor supply main office District manager was to call me with in 72 hours, it’s been a week no call and no tire. Tractor supply is a terrible store never shopping there anymore.

Absolutely LOVE Tractor Supply! Glen, the delivery person, was FABULOUS!!! He was very communicated and went well above and beyond our expectations. We had a problem with the one they delivered, so we called the store and talked to the manager who promptly found a new one at a different store...Glen was not happy with how it looked and found us a brand new one in a box, put it together for us and delivered it to us. It's the best so far. It's small enough storage isn't an issue and big enough with the 42 inch cut. I mow 3 yards. With a tractor it would take around 4 hrs or more. I do it now in hour and half. The half is usually me playing with new toy. Lol
